The world of Loonity

Loonity is a collaborative platform and lives from its users. Users are assigned roles according to their function on the platform. There are four roles in total, whereby a user can have several roles at the same time.

Family

Every user in Loonity has the role of a family. This is used to shop in the markets. By the way: A user can be assigned to several families and a family can have several users.
Functions for families

Producer

Every Loonity user can become a producer and offer their products. Producers have the opportunity to enter their products in detail, including information on sustainability and production methods. Each producer also has their own profile, in which a wealth of information about their business can be entered.
Functions for producers

Market

The market connects all users - families, producers and distributors - and defines the conditions under which trade takes place. The market also determines which products are sold.

Distributor

Logistics specialists collect orders, prepare them and deliver them. The entire logistics process within Loonity is optimized for direct marketing. There is also a system for recording and handling errors in the supply chain.

More than just an online store: Loonity is a collaborative marketplace

With an online store, you sell your products as an individual supplier. Loonity, on the other hand, offers many more functions and allows you to set up a complete marketplace (comparable to Amazon or Galaxus, for example) that specializes in the direct marketing of food. In Loonity, you can create a market offer from offers from several producers, including complex logistics for the delivery of the products. Here you can find an overview of the differences between Loonity and conventional online stores (e.g. WooCommerce or Shopify).

The technology of Loonity

Modern software architecture

Loonity is a modern cloud application and was programmed with a robust software stack. You have the option of hosting Loonity on-premises with your own infrastructure or using our services.

Flexible application options

Loonity can be used as a dedicated instance (exclusive to your project) or as a community project with dozens of markets and hundreds of producers working together (multi-tenant mode).

Loonity is expandable

Thanks to a modern API, it is possible to connect Loonity with external software. One example is the synchronization of product information with WooCommerce. In a B2C environment, it makes sense to provide an SEO-optimized interface. Connections to accounting or logistics software are also possible.
